[ARCHIVED] The GCLMPO has established a Public Comment Period for review of four separate documents

GCLMPO Public Comment

The Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln Metropolitan Planning Organization (GCLMPO) has established a public comment period for review of four separate documents. The documents will be available for review and public comments will be received from
April 1 – 30.

THE GASTON-CLEVELAND-LINCOLN METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (GCLMPO) HAS ESTABLISHED A PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • 2020-2029 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) AMENDMENTS
  • DRAFT 2024-2033 TIP
  • 2050 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN (MTP) AMENDMENTS
  • DRAFT AIR QUALITY CONFORMITY DETERMINATION REPORT

The documents will be available for review and public comments will be received from April 1 – 30, 2023.

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) identifies the transportation projects that GCLMPO and NCDOT plan to undertake over the next ten years. The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is the long-range, fiscally-constrained plan that defines the transportation network that will serve both present and projected volumes of vehicular traffic, public transportation use, bicycle, pedestrian, aviation and freight travel in and around the urban area. Federal regulations require the TIP and MTP to be consistent with the NCDOT’s State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). In addition, an air quality conformity determination is required due to the Clean Air Act’s requirement that an MPO’s plans and programs conform to the purpose of the state implementation plan (SIP) for achieving air quality standards.

Copies of all documents and maps for the plans referenced above are available for review during the dates listed above in the Gastonia Planning Department located on the 2nd floor of the Garland Business Center - 150 South York Street, Gastonia, NC 28052. Additional information can be obtained by visiting the MPO’s website at https://gclmpo.org/get-involved/comment-on-a-project/

The public may also provide comments during the GCLMPO TCC Meeting on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10:00 am and the Board Meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 6:30 pm.

Written comments may also be sent by mail, email, or fax to the following address:
