(Lincolnton) Lincoln County Manager Davin W. Madden announced today that Clay Henley has been named as Assistant County Manager for Lincoln County. Henley comes to Lincoln County from Cherryville where he has lived most of his life.
Henley attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and has a master’s in public administration from Appalachian State University. Prior to coming to Lincoln County, Henley was an attorney for the Gaston County Department of Social Services. Henley brings a wealth of experience in public service. As the attorney for DSS, he helped some of the most vulnerable citizens in the community. Henley has a strong sense of service to the community and believes the County’s responsibility is to serve all its citizens.
“My skills inside and outside the courtroom have served me well. While I will no longer be fighting for justice in the courtroom, I will work to strengthen the County’s programs and to support all its residents as Assistant County Manager. I am excited to be a part of this community and appreciate the opportunity to serve,” said Henley. "We are very excited to have Clay join our team. Lincoln County has seen significant growth over the past few years and it is important that we continue to recruit effective and qualified individuals to help the county continue the momentum of a viable and thriving community. Clay offers local familiarity and more than a decade in local government experience in his new role,” said County Manager Davin Madden.
