The Lincoln County Fire Marshal's office and the NC Forest Service have issued a burning ban for the entire county.
During this ban, no open burning will be allowed. All burning permits are now revoked until the ban is lifted. A citation of $100.00 plus the cost of court will be issued for all violations of the ban. The burn ban does not apply to cooking fires such as grills and outdoor cookers.
