Xylazine
What You Should Know About Xylazine | Overdose Prevention | CDC
Xylazine is a non-opioid sedative or tranquilizer that is being found in the illegal drug supply throughout the U.S. and is linked to overdose deaths. The tranquilizer ("Tranq"), not approved for use in humans, causes the brain and breathing to slow down and is especially dangerous when combined with opioids such as fentanyl. Xylazine can be injected, swallowed, or sniffed, and much like fentanyl, you cannot tell if the substance is present by the naked eye.
