Abandoned Structures

Abandoned Structures are any structure that poses a threat to health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Lincoln County due to the attraction of insects, rodents, conditions creating a fire hazard, dangerous conditions constituting a threat to children, or frequent use by vagrants as living quarters in the absence of sanitary facilities. Once a petition is filed, the Chief Building Official conducts an inspection and makes a determination as to the legitimacy of the concern and whether or not there are elements of life-safety hazards present that meet the spirit and intent of the ordinance. Lincoln County does not enforce any additional or stand alone ordinances that are constituted as a minimum housing code. To learn more, visit the Code of Ordinances to review the regulations pertaining to abandoned structures. .
